The work, “Down in the Bayou” seeks to capture the omnipresent still and quite deep within the backwoods hidden swamp land in the early morning dawn. The reflections in the water and the lily pads convey a mysterious sense of serenity to the work. It is a personal favorite within my body of work. – Bartké
